Adele

AdeleAdele Mara (April 28, 1923 (April 28, 1923 - May 7, 2010 USA) was an American actress and singer. Her appearances in films were during the 1940s and 1950s[2] as well as on TV in 1950s and 1960s. As a professional under the name Adele St. Mara, she won a contract with Columbia Pictures [citation required] and began to work working in the studio's "B" films and comedy shorts. Soon, this was shortened to Adele Mara. Mara began her professional career as a receptionist in the Three Stooges movie I Can Hardly Wait. Mara Brooks as well as Leslie Brooks portrayed the sisters in the character of Rita Hayworth in Fred Astaire's film You Were Never Lovelier. In Alias Boston Blackie (1942), she plays the leading female role, portraying the sister of an escapee and falsely indicted convict. After her Columbia contract expired the studio moved her to Republic Pictures, where she became a regular character in the studio's westerns and outdoor adventure. She played a supporting role in Don Siegel's Count the Hours and The Vampire's Ghost, Wake of the Red Witch.
